On Sunday I came home from work after a couple hours with the flu. I actually began coming down with it on Saturday although I refused to admit it was the flu. I wanted to believe it was the pizza I ate. You know, too much cheese or something.
So I went to work on Sunday and after running to the bathroom five times in about two hours, I decided it was time to go home. Upon arrival, my Beagle Lucy, immediately glued herself to me. She hopped up into bed and warmed my feet. Then when I got so cold, she came up near my head and gave me her sweet little Beagle kisses. She wouldn't leave my side.
Was it any surprise that on Monday morning she began sneezing? And then she began throwing up. I didn't know she could get the flu from me.
She still isn't 100% but she's doing better. Currently she's laying near my feet sleeping. We've been sleeping a lot the past couple of days. I just opened a tin of peppermints and it didn't even wake her. That tells me she still isn't feeling quite right. Normally she would be running up the stairs with her nose up in the air trying to sniff them out. Food can wake Lucy up from a dead sleep. She may not always hear you, but if you have food, she'll find you.
So I go back to work today feeling much better and all I want to do is stay home and take care of Lucy. Hopefully she'll do okay while I'm at work.
