Whatever floats your boat...

For NJ. Look at the end of this video, part without the music. That was 11 months post treatment for Lymphoma. It never came back. Another cancer snuck up and took him down though.

Actually the part of him walking across the stream was about a week before his demise from Thyroid cancer.  I was speaking of his interaction with the little girl puppy.   He was pretty happy and healthy for a whole year.

Thank you so much for this, Chig. I know Woody from some of your videos, but I didn't know he was the little black pup in your photo at 0:41 until this. Like Woody, Buddy has also had two bouts with cancer, the first one almost 3 years ago with testicular cancer (he was unneutered when I adopted him). If he has a good year ahead of him like Woody did, then I will consider it one of my greatest blessings ever. Again, I'm so, so sorry about Woody.

Did the little girl become part of your family?

Oh that little girl has a family and a big fenced in back yard.   I think in a year plus though I have only seen her out for a walk twice.   She  is a bit over a year old and really lonely. Her yard is next to a deep / steeply cut wash which is hard to get to .  She runs like crazy when she sees people walk by on the other side of the wash.  Woody typically liked to torment other dogs in the neighborhood to get a reaction from them,  Once he got a reaction, he just ignored them.    With this little girl he genuinely wanted to see her, and interact.  So we stumbled down one side of the wash, and clawed our way up the other, while he ran a very narrow strip of land outside of the fenced yard in an effort to engage her.  I think he recognized she was young and felt she needed the interaction she did not get because of her isolation.

I am sure you know without treatment you are talking weeks.  I hope it is B Cell which is much more responsive.  We did not do CHOP with Woodruff.  We started with an L-Asparignase shot, then 5 sessions of Doxorubicin.  In the middle of his Doxo treatments we introduced the lymphoma CD20 vaccine. 4 shots initially and a booster every 6 months after.

Aw B. I'm so sorry to learn that Woodruff has passed. He was a dog of integrity. Never accepting roles from lazy directors. None but you and Anne could have given him the wonderful life he had.

Sooooo, no holes in the fence where the little girl lives? (half kidding). Your kids are always so fortunate to get to experience a real pack. Hugs all around.

I hate to see dogs exiled to backyards and denied daily walks. It doesn't take a lot to make a dog happy, and I always wonder why people who aren't willing to do the minimum for their happiness even want the responsibility in the first place.
