The Ark

Whatever floats your boat...

The paradoxes and struggles of life are the most fascinating, and music is the muse for this expression.

A reflection of a decade raising bright-eyed innocent children while fighting dragons behind their backs, trying to keep smiling for them. Innocence is so short-lived in this age, it's preservation is a parent's duty.

This is for Steve.(sorry i could only find the small screen version)

Music By: Ludovico Einaudi. Thanks to this brilliant composer for the musical embrace

For Steve.

Poignant and lovely, frightening and beautiful and sad and hopeful, heart warming and heart rending.

Human-being is a rough incarnation.

It's the love along the way that makes it worth it.

LOOK who I"M tellin'.

...amazing and touching piece of work, S

Oh, this just kinda destroys my heart.... in a very good way. Parents, the lion at the gate and a soft place to fall.

Beautiful ThatGirl - just beautiful...

@ YOU guys. - Steve reminded me of this piece which reminded me how gut-wrenching a task it was but how cathartic at the same time. It was actually Syd who used that word, first time around.

Things like this are precious possessions when we DOUBT or feel weak. I make these things just as much for myself as for the fact they can ever have an effect on other people. When that happens, no words necessary. That's basically why I do All the creative stuff I do.  Putting something old up is helping me finish something NEW I've been working on for months now.

@Blanchie- You got that hammer that hits that nail just right..the LOVE, Indeed.  There is no greater medicine or gift.

@Smokescreen - don't go away for too long this time, your face and your words are encouragement for some of us little people here.

@Marie - you're a mom. I just know you see things in this only your heart knows. Parenthood..phew...a job none of us ever can be sure we're doing right..and one that makes us FIGHT dragons to defend.

@Steve...i know you....Mwah!!

So incredibly powerful.  I was about to write probably the same thing I wrote when I first saw it cuz I was thinking how you, more than most, get how this medium helps us to encapsulate our experiences and convey them, even if most of the images hold a special meaning to us- the gist of it (the essence) is still expressed and felt by those who are privileged to come across it.

The music with its crescendo is perfect.

Thanks for sharing this again.

P.S. I'm interested to know how you are these days.  :o)

@Syd - funny you come by just exactly now. Healthwise, I have found a "place" in my kidney care that is kind of nice. I just celebrated 2 years without an emergency or procedure, on Memorial Day weekend. I was kind of excited about that. Personally? theres so many facets to that one, I'll leave it alone for now. I just keep setting goals and trying against the system and the body to reach them. I"m kind of on a forced break this semester ...the future only knows what the future will be at this particular moment!..Hope you are doing great and I'm sure the end of school year will allow you to take your OWN big deep breath and do things you have been wanting to do...even SLEEP!...ciao for now, cap'n

This is such an eloquent visual essay. Really, really beautiful in a way that makes sadness tolerable. I agree with you, preserving innocence for children is something we all should work at, 'cause lord knows once we've lost it, we all spend the rest of our lives trying to recapture it.

@NatureJunkie - Aw, that's just about the size of it, isn't it? I'd say life is like that but that would be a cheap Hallmark phrase.  No one can put a price on that gift of innocence we have at birth that needs protection...and yes, it is something we can chase like a butterfly if it is stolen from us too soon.
