The only thing I can think of that I do that's consistent and needlessly costly is that I hardly ever turn in receipts for professional travel that my district would easily reimburse me for.   Isn't that ridiculous...?    I think yours is more of a set ritual, whereas mine's just sheer stupidity.

I am not sure If I do anything that could be done differently.   Oh, yes, I guess I could buy a book of stamps but instead everytime I mail stuff I drive to the package store, I purchase one stamp and I mail from the store instead of just doing it from the house and saving on gas.

Yes ! I found many ways of doing stuff cheaper last year. I can't eat soy and it's in EVERY sort of processed food, even mixes, so I have to make everything from scratch now. It's much cheaper and I am coming up with ways of making it more time-convenieant, like cooking up meals for a week on Saturdays and Sundays.

,..and I'm chronically prepared and ahead of schedule. I've had so many freakishly rare hurdles and happenstances thrown at me in my life that I am always looking for ways to cut down my margin for error.

I am the opposite of a procrastinator,....and it doesn't seem to make much difference, so maybe if you did start paying ahead of time, some other annoying b.s. would materialize to take the place of the hassle you remove.

Oh well,....Happy New Year anyway !

I still wait last minute to buy gifts for birthdays, christmas, Hanukkah, retirement...etc.  It's one of the only things in life I procrastinate on.  I live by the wise words of the star wars prophet YODA "Do or do not, there is no try" -

woohoooo a doc who fan :D Season 5 very compelling

and WoW leaving things last minute and doing things the hard way like no one has ever done that o0 (exams and revision come to mind)
