My classes viewed this National Geo special a few days before the holiday break and afterward, it was clear what an impact it had made. The discussion was rife with great questions that will seed this next semester's journey.

Ark Update

For those of you who don't know, Ning will cease to be a free hosting service on July 20th.

In order to maintain a Ninglet, if you have one, you'll have to pay about $3 a month to do so and even then, you won't be able to upload videos.

Vloggerheads Update

For those few of you who also frequent Vloggerheads, I figured I'd give you an update (or at least communicate what little I know).

A couple of days ago, members were signing on only to find that they were entered into someone else's account, even to the degree that they could see their inbox (remind you of something...?) so Tom, the owner, took it offline and sent a query to Ning. Doh!! Goodbye FREE Ning Sites...

FYI- Ning announced lay-offs today and that they'd also be discontinuing free accounts.

You can read about it at TechCrunch HERE.

It doesn't effect The Ark since I pay for it but I know that many of you began storing your videos on your own "Ninglets" last year and embedded them here to save us bandwidth. I'm not sure when this will take effect but I hope it doesn't effect you too adversely.

Update on Kevin (Photo)

The last we heard from Kevin, he had asked for prayers regarding his mom, who'd had a minor stroke.

For anyone who's been wondering, his mom was in a hospital for a little while and then she got very depressed and was transferred to a geriatric hospital that specializes in depression. She's doing okay, although Kevin's not able to see her.

He's having a difficult time adjusting to the absence of his mom and it's compounding his physical condition, which means his hands are too… Continue

The Incredibly Exciting Mystery of Plastic on Furniture!

I did a little vlog where I got my mom to promise me she'd take the plastic off the lampshades.
